# Additional Tips::

01 -
  • Protein-packed and filling enough to be your main event, not just a side dish.
  • It actually tastes better the next day when flavors have had time to get cozy together.
  • One pot means less cleanup, which is genuinely the dream on busy nights.
02 -
  • Rinsing your lentils before cooking removes surface dust and prevents the soup from becoming cloudy or gritty.
  • Adding the zucchini partway through prevents it from dissolving; it should add texture, not turn into invisible mush.
  • Bay leaf removal is non-negotiable—leaving it in is how you accidentally create an unpleasant surprise for someone.
03 -
  • Don't skip toasting the spices in that thirty-second window—it's the difference between a good soup and one people actually remember.
  • Taste and season at the very end rather than partway through, since the broth will concentrate as it simmers and what seemed perfectly seasoned early on can taste too salty later.
